Loaves and Fishes wishes - September 2015

Loaves and Fishes Community offers hospitality and advocacy to people experiencing homelessness. We are all volunteers and we depend almost entirely on small gifts of cash and goods to continue our work. Donations are accepted every day 9am-9pm at 1614 or 1712 Jefferson St, Duluth. Food: Coffee; creamer; sugar; butter/margarine; vegetable oil; salad dressing; healthy breakfast cereal; canned tuna (large cans preferred); ground beef; peanut butter; gift cards to Whole Foods Co-op and SuperOne. Household: Dish soap; laundry detergent; toilet paper (jumbo commercial and regular rolls). Personal: New socks (adult sizes - cotton and thermal); shampoo; razors. Street outreach: Tarps (camo preferred); sleeping bags; bug repellent; gas cards; winter coats, hats and mittens. Bike Cave: Bike locks and cables; chain breaker; 3 in 1 oil; cable cutter; vise grips. Volunteer requests: Meal angels to prepare and deliver an evening meal to Olive Branch or Dorothy Day House (we usually feed 15 people per house, many volunteers sign up to bring a meal monthly); Tree removal expert to help trim and remove some pesky box elders near our houses and power lines.
